Chief Mc Ginnis's Waffles

Hey Kids,
Now for all of you unfamiliar with Nancy Drew Mysteries, we thought we'd give you a quick background so that you know who the characters are the the recipes are named after.
Nancy Drew-teen detective
Carson Drew-her lawyer dad
Hannah Gruen-Nancy's cook who's been with her since Nancy's mom died when she was three
Chief Mc Ginnis- chief of police in River Heights (where Nancy lives)
Bess Marvin-Nancy's friend
George Fayne-Nancy's tomboyish friend
Ned Nickerson-Nancy's special Friend
Dave Evans-Bess's Steady Date
Burt Eddelton-George's friend

(we kid you not-these are the descriptions in the book)
as more characters appear we will let you know who they are.

Anyway, we finally got a chance to get back into the kitchen and cook some yummy breakfast! Today's task: Waffles.
We thought it would be a bit difficult to make waffles without a waffle maker but thankfully Yoni had one in his house and kindly lent it to us.

We had a bit of a rocky start (don't we always) mixing some yolk into the eggwhites and using baking soda instead of baking power but we managed to make some good stuff.

Debbie was a bit surprised that there was no sugar in the recipe but it turns out that they definitely didn't need the extra sweetness because they were DELISH. And yes we may have made a bit of a mess but what's life if not a little bit messy.

We're going to try to fit in at least one more recipe before Shira leaves for New York. Only 5 more recipes before we're out of breakfasts and into brunch!

Love,
Debs, Shirz and Nancy Drew

ps in case you're wondering why we never actually put up the recipe it's because we're scared of copyright infringements. If you want the recipes feel free to email us and we'll be happy to share <3>
